A Lot Can Happen In 24 Hours

For many of us the next 86,400 seconds will go by rather uneventfully. However, maybe someone you know will be one of the 1,369 people who will be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease during that brief time. In 24 hours 224 people will die because of Alzheimer’s and dementia related impairments. Today our nation will spend $501,369,863 on Alzheimer’s disease testing, diagnosis, treatment, and research. It is currently estimated that one in eight Americans ages 65 and older, and more than one in three Americans ages 85 and older have Alzheimer’s disease. As of right now, Alzheimer’s is the 6th leading cause of death in the US, and the only one in the top 10 that has no prevention or cure. Think about all the beautiful memories that you create and experience every 24 hour period. Now think about not being able to recall them.

Can 6 men cover 198.5 miles in 24 hours in an effort to raise awareness, support, and financial resources to help a company dedicated to finding a cure to Alzheimer’s?  We know that with your help the answer can be yes. We would be so grateful for any way in which you could partner with us in this race to make Alzheimer’s disease forgettable.
